The Battler Wellness Center on the ground floor of Withers Hall offers free, confidential mental-health counseling, stress-reduction workshops, and a peer-mentor "Battler Buddy" network. Six licensed clinical counselors maintain caseloads; same-week appointments are guaranteed for students in distress, and a 24/7 crisis line is staffed by professional clinicians.
Our on-campus health clinic is staffed by AB's own PA program faculty and is free to enrolled students. The clinic provides primary care, sick visits, sports physicals, immunizations, and mental-health screenings. Prescriptions can be filled at the Philippi CVS within walking distance. We are a tobacco-free campus and provide free cessation support to any student or employee who wants help quitting.
Beyond formal services, AB invests heavily in upstream wellness. The Whole-Person Wellness initiative, launched in 2024, provides every freshman a personal wellness coach during their first semester. We host annual programming around mental-health awareness, sleep hygiene, financial wellness, and relationship literacy. The Wellness Center's peer-mentor program, the Battler Buddies, trains 25 upper-class students per year in active listening and mental-health first aid.
