Note to students regarding Check-In Self-Registration

Dear Students,

This year, all students must self-register for a check-in period before arriving to campus for the upcoming fall semester. This is being done to minimize wait times, avoid unnecessary crowding, and to ensure that all students can receive individual attention during the check-in process. We write to you today to share information regarding how you can self-register for a specific check-in day and time. Please read this information carefully and contact the Office of Student Affairs if you have any questions. We can be reached at studentaffairs@ab.edu or 304.457.6213.

All students must self-register for a specific day and check-in period. Each check-in period has a limited number of student slots available to facilitate an orderly check-in process. If your preferred check-in period is full, you will need to select a different option. All students must complete the check-in process upon their arrival to campus. If you arrive outside of your assigned time slot, you may be asked to wait until your assigned time slot so that others may be served.

Please click the link below that corresponds with your student classification to self-register for your specific check-in period. You can arrive on campus and begin the check-in process at any time during this period. For example, if you register for an 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. period, you can arrive on campus at any time during that 2-hour window. Please refer to the attached instructions for more detailed information.

NCAA Football (Note: Sprint Football does not move in early)

  • Saturday, August 7
    • 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
    • 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Fall Sports:

Cheer, Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, Men’s & Women’s Soccer, and Women’s Volleyball

  • Saturday, August 14
    • 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
    • 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
    • 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

New Students and Transfer Students (Includes new student-athletes for teams not listed above)

  • Friday, August 20
    • 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
    • 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
    • 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Returning Students (Includes returning student-athletes for teams not listed above)

  • Saturday, August 21
    • 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
    • 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
    • 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Check-in Instructions:

  • You can arrive on campus at any time during your designated time slot. If you arrive outside of your designated time slot, you may be asked to wait until your designated time slot so that others may be served.
  • When you arrive on campus, please follow the signs to the Check-In Tent next to Myers Hall so you can begin the check-in process.
  • If you will be living on campus, you cannot move into your room until you have completed the check-in process.

Information Regarding COVID-19 Protocols:

  • The University’s COVID-19 Guidelines for fall semester are currently being crafted based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and health officials. They will be shared with students when they are finalized. Students and guests will be required to follow the guidelines during the check-in process. In the meantime, students are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated.
