Alderson Broaddus University Increases New Student Enrollment

Class of 2021Philippi, W.Va. – For the first time since 2013, the incoming class has increased at Alderson Broaddus University.

The incoming class of freshman and transfers represents a 19% increase over the incoming class of 2016. The University not only increased its enrollment, but it also raised the incoming class retention rate two percent from a year ago.

“We are excited to welcome the Class of 2021 to Alderson Broaddus University,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Eric Shor. “I look forward to what this group will accomplish in their four years at Alderson Broaddus.”

The incoming class has representatives from 33 counties in West Virginia, 23 states and eight countries.

The incoming class arrived on campus on August 20th for orientation and Welcome Weekend activities.

Despite graduating the largest class in the University’s history, overall enrollment has held steady.

“I would like to commend the Enrollment Management team for their efforts, but recruitment and retention are campus wide initiatives,” said Shor. “I would also like to thank the faculty, staff and administration for all their assistance in bringing the Class of 2021 to Alderson Broaddus.”
