09/09/2021 COVID Update

The University’s temporary mask requirement is being extended through at least Friday, September 24, 2021. All members of the campus community (vaccinated and non-vaccinated) are required to wear masks or face coverings while indoors. Masks are not required outdoors, when alone in offices, or when in one’s own residence room or suite. Social distancing while unmasked outdoors is encouraged.

This extension of the requirement is in response to guidance from the Barbour County Health Department as well as the current COVID-19 cases on our campus. Currently, the University is tracking 14 students and 4 faculty and staff who have recently tested positive for COVID-19.

If you have not been vaccinated, please consider protecting yourself and others by getting your shot. The vaccine is readily available in our community and the University is willing to offer them on campus. We will send a survey out soon to determine on-campus interest. Here are the vaccination clinics being held weekly in Barbour County. You can call the Health Department at 304-457-1670 for more information.

Recurring vaccination clinics are held each week in Barbour County:

Monday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Maces Pharmacy, 440 South Main Street, Philippi, WV 26416.

Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Barbour County Health Department, 109 Wabash Avenue, Philippi, WV 26416.

Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., appointment required 304-823-2800 or 304-457-2800, Myers Clinic, 3 Health Care Dr. Philippi, WV 26416 and Belington Medical Clinic, 70 North Sturmer Street, Belington, WV 26250.

Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Maces Pharmacy, 204 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250.

Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Barbour County Health Department, 109 Wabash Avenue, Philippi, WV 26416.
