Alderson Broaddus University Covid-19 Policy and Procedures

Purpose
The purpose of the Alderson Broaddus University (AB) Covid-19 Policy and Procedures is to help facilitate to all faculty and staff the safest working environment possible related to the
Covid-19 epidemic.

Policy:
1. It will be the policy for all faculty and staff of Alderson Broaddus University feeling ill and displaying symptoms relating to Covid-19 to be tested by a medical provider for Covid-19. If a faculty/staff member tests positive, the faculty/staff member will provide a copy of the test by the medical provider to their supervisor.
2. Faculty/staff are not to report for work if they are displaying signs and symptoms of Covid-19.
3. If a faculty/staff member starts to display signs or symptoms while at work, they are to immediately notify their supervisor. The supervisor may request the faculty/staff member be tested for Covid-19 before the faculty/staff member is allowed to return to
work.

Procedure:
If a faculty/staff member becomes symptomatic of COVID, please get tested. A home test may be used to determine if Covid-19. If an employee tests positive, they will be required to follow up with a medical provider test to receive Covid pay. The first day of testing by a medical provider showing positive will count as Day 1.

The faculty/staff member can return to work on day six (6) as long as they have been without fever for 24 hours and are asymptomatic. No return test is required. The faculty/staff must continue to mask AT ALL TIMES for the remaining 5 days while
working.

A maximum of five (5) Covid (Holiday) Pay will be allotted to a faculty/staff member. If the faculty/staff member is off more than five (5) days, they will have to use their sick leave first then, followed by vacation days to cover the rest.

The policy and procedures of Alderson Broaddus University are not all-inclusive. They may be changed at any time to fall into compliance with the guidelines adopted by the Center for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

COVID INFORMATION

The University has relaxed its COVID-19 mask mandates for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals with a few exceptions.

The University may, at its discretion, reinstate masking protocols if or when conditions related to COVID-19 change.

This decision is based on declining infections and the relaxation of safety protocols nationwide. The University recommends vaccination, including booster shots, as the best defense against COVID-19.

If you have not been vaccinated, please consider protecting yourself and others by getting your shot.  Please visit our COVID page for up-to-date masking exceptions and local information.
