PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Alderson Broaddus University marching band will perform twice throughout the state of West Virginia during Labor Day weekend festivities this upcoming weekend.
AB Band Director Robert Palmer announced that the band will perform the National Anthem at the West Virginia Power game on Friday as well as having the drumline perform at Snowshoe Resort for the Free Fall Festival this coming Saturday.
The West Virgina Power are a single A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and will take on Greenville Friday night at 7:05 p.m. The game will be held at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va during their final weekend of play for the 2016 regular season.
The Free Fall Festival takes place September 2nd through the 4th with a packed schedule of events during the weekend. The drumline will perform at noon on Saturday as the band will display their talent for the audience.

The Iconic A Capella Group in Concert on Campus
PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Alderson Broaddus University A capella ensemble “The West Virginians” will perform in concert this Friday April 29, 2016 in Funkhouser Auditorium at 7:30 pm on the AB campus.
Founded in 1977, “The West Virginians” have provided a quality, family-friendly outreach program featuring music of many decades, styles, and genres. They are under the direction of Lewis R. Hall.
This event is free and open to the public.
The School of Music presents its annual “Chamber Concert” on Thursday, March 31, at 7:30PM in Wilcox Chapel. The concert features the AB University/Community Handbell Choir, AB Woodwind Ensembles, and AB Brass. The concert includes classical and contemporary compositions featuring handbells, handchimes, autoharps, and singing bells; flute, clarinet, and saxophone ensembles; brass quintet and brass choir; horn, clarinet, and euphonium student soloists; and an Irish jig accompanied by a bodhrán. Directors Dr. Lillian F. Long, Mr. Matthew Swallow, and Dr. Timothy DeWitt are joined by guest conductor Dr. Judson F. Bracey. There is no admission charge and all are invited to attend.
