Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology
With an associate degree being the preferred entry-level into the field as a surgical technologist, Alderson Broaddus University and the West Virginia Department of Education’s Advanced Career Education (ACE) division have partnered to offer an Associate of Applied Science in surgical technology.
Graduates from the ACE program who have passed their certification exam may apply to the Alderson Broaddus program. A passed certification will be credited as 45 hours towards the 60-hour AAS degree. The additional 15 hours of classes can be earned in one semester online at a reduced tuition rate.
This program is primarily open to graduates from the ACE surgical technology programs at the following locations:
- Ben Franklin Career Center in Dunbar, WV
- Carver Career and Technical Education Center in Charleston, WV
- James Rumsey Technical Institute in Martinsburg, WV
- Monongalia County Technical Education Center in Morgantown, WV
Graduates from other programs holding the CST certification may be eligible to enter AB’s Associate of Applied Science in surgical technology program.
