The College of Business has shown tremendous growth in the last several years. This growth has created an excitement and energy as the college adapts to an increasingly entrepreneurial business environment. The college offers majors and minors in the disciplines of Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Sports Management, Healthcare Administration, and Entrepreneurship. The professors advocate an experiential approach to learning and class projects. Many courses in the curriculum use real-world business problems to help students understand and apply the material in their courses. Each professor brings a unique and varied background enhancing the educational experience for our students. Most have industry or ‘real-world’ experience that greatly adds to the classroom discussions and interactions. We strongly encourage and provide opportunities for our students to grow personally and become well-rounded members of society. We encourage students to explore and gain experience in relationships with the local community endeavoring to promote an atmosphere of caring that results in the next generation of business leaders.

Why Business at AB?

  • The college has a superior record of placing students in their careers after graduation.
  • Internships are strongly encouraged and often required in the majors to allow students to gain valuable real-world experience.
  • Members of the Business Club, Future Business Leaders of America (Phi Beta Lambda), have competed in and won state-wide and national competitions.
  • The College helps students enter the state-wide business plan competition. This competition has a prize of $10,000 and helps students gain experience in business plan writing and getting their thoughts from great idea to a written, actionable business plan.
  • There are also opportunities for students to design and create their own products. The students have to put into practice the knowledge they acquire in class about production and sourcing of materials. Students find a producer for their product that meets their time and cost restraints. Finally, they develop a plan to market and sell their products; again, gaining hands-on experience that is not only valuable but priceless in today’s business environment.
  • The programs in the College of Business allow students to double major and still graduate in four years, thus increasing their marketability for future jobs.
