AB University Welcomes Community to Homecoming 2018

AB to Celebrate Homecoming October 3-7

Alderson Broaddus University will host a variety of events for the public as part of their Homecoming celebration “Come Back to the Mountaintop” October 3-7.

To kick-off Homecoming week, the Dr. Robert V. Digman Lecture Series will be held Wednesday-Friday, October 3-5 from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. in Crim Dining Hall in the AB Campus Center.

Wednesday, October 3, Jessica and Mark Salfia, 2003 AB graduates, will present on their involvement with the West Virginia teachers’ strike and share readings from their contributions to the publication 55 Strong: Inside The West Virginia Teachers’ Strike.

On Thursday, October 4, Mark Warner a 1968 AB graduate will discuss the creation of his sculpture Apollo that stands erect in the middle of AB’s campus, along with discussions on his other public works of art.

The lecture series will conclude on, Friday, October 5, with Jeff Jeran a 2000 AB graduate discussing his role in designing and implementing a corporate employee wellness program, Healthy U, that serves over 5,800+ hospital employees at six hospitals in West Virginia and Virginia.

The public is also invited to the women’s and men’s soccer games on Thursday, October 4, and Saturday, October 6. Both days the women play at 5:00 p.m. and the men play at 7:30 p.m. Both battle the University of Findlay and Tiffin, respectively.

A campus spirit march will take place on Saturday, October 6, at 12:45 p.m. and end at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium ahead of the Battler football game 1:30 p.m. kick-off against Lake Erie.

Wilcox Chapel will be full of music Saturday evening, at 7:30 p.m. as the School of Music hosts its annual homecoming concert.

On Sunday morning, the annual Homecoming Worship Service led by Rev. Herman Robinson, a 1958 AB graduate, will take place at Philippi Baptist Church located at 69 Church Street in downtown Philippi. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome to attend.
