Tamanna R. Ahmed is a tenured Associate Professor of Chemistry. Her primary responsibilities at Alderson Broaddus University include teaching General Chemistry, Introduction to Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
Ahmed earned a Master of Chemistry degree from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She also earned a Master of Biochemistry degree and Master of Microbiology degree from Dhaka University, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Prior to coming to Alderson Broaddus University, Ahmed worked as a part-time instructor at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia, and at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Mrs. Ahmed’s research about gold complexes on enzyme activities was published in several professional journals.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Ahmed is an active member of the American Chemical Society. She also coordinates visitation of medical schools to the Alderson Broaddus campus. She is the advisor for pre-pharmacy, pre-medicine, and pre-physician assistant students.
