Alderson-Broaddus College President Richard Creehan has announced a change in leadership for two key areas at A-B College, effective immediately. Tanya Shelton will assume the role of vice president for enrollment management, and Nikky Luna will assume the role of vice president for institutional advancement.
“They both bring energy, enthusiasm, and a special dedication to the mission of A-B College,” expressed Creehan. “I am confident that both of them will provide the goal-oriented leadership that is required at a very critical juncture in the College’s history.”
Shelton has served in various roles in advancement for almost 20 years, with stints at both Alderson-Broaddus College and West Virginia Wesleyan College. She most recently served A-B College as vice president for advancement. In her new role, Shelton will supervise admission, athletics, financial aid, and marketing and communications. Shelton has a bachelor's degree in English composition from Davis & Elkins College and a master's in higher education administration from West Virginia University, where she is currently working on her dissertation for an EdD in leadership studies. In 2009 she received the Independent College Advancement Associates Ernest E. Sheetz Mentor Award.
Luna, an alumna of A-B College, is a former member of “The West Virginians,” the speech and debate team and served as an admissions counselor, alumni director, and major gifts officer. She most recently served as the director of foundation and government relations and major gifts. As vice president for institutional advancement, she will assume responsibility for major and planned giving, alumni relations, foundations and government relations, annual fund, and scheduling of music groups. Luna graduated from A-B College with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and applied music and is currently in pursuit of her master of science degree in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University.
