Brand Notches Game-Winner Versus WVU Tech

Senior Gwen Brand drove home the game-winning shot Friday night against West Virginia Tech to Give A-B the 1-0 win.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Senior Gwen Brand drove home the game-winning shot Friday to lead the Alderson-Broaddus women's soccer team to its second win of the season with a 1-0 victory against West Virginia Tech.

The Kingwood, W.Va., native struck the winning shot at 84:54 and was assisted by fellow senior Nicole Lehman.

"It is great to get a win, but tonight was not about winning or losing." said Head Coach Patrick McGinnis. "It was about finding the right players that fit within our system."

The Battlers (2-3-1) travel to face Salem International Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
