ALDERSON-BROADDUS COLLEGE ANNOUNCES HOMECOMING 2011
Community invited to participate in events

PHILIPPI, W.V- Alderson Broaddus will be hosting a variety of events for the public as part of their homecoming celebration, Oct. 14-16, 2011.

The Battler Golf Scramble will take place at the Barbour County Country Club.  Registration is at 9 a.m., the activity begins at 10a.m.  The cost of this event is $50, which includes green and cart fees, two mulligans and lunch.  The proceeds from this event will benefit the AB Men’s Basketball Team.  For more information, please contact Carla Rogers at 457-6262.

The Queen’s Pageant will take place on Friday, October 15, 2011 at 8 p.m. in Funkhouser Auditorium.  Alumni award recipients, Willis Society, and the Lord and Lady will be recognized.

The Men’s Alumni Basketball Game will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 in the Rex Piles Arena. Later that day, lunch will be served on the lawn on the Campus Quad at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The cost is $10.

Also on Saturday, the Lady Battlers Volleyball will play Shepherd at 1 p.m. in the Rex Piles arena.

Battlers Soccer Alumni Game will also be held on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Wilcox Chapel will be full of music as the afternoon homecoming concert takes place at 3:30 p.m. and the evening concert at 7:30p.m. The cost is $7 and will feature the Brass Choir, Chamber Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Woodwind Ensemble.

Other events open to the public include the juried Student Art Show in the Daywood Gallery in Burbick Hall on AB’s campus.  The gallery will be open on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 10 a.m. -9 p.m.

The AB bookstore will also be open on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 9a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Saturday October 15, 2011 from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Homecoming weekend will conclude with a Chapel Service, Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in the Wilcox Chapel.
