Alderson Broaddus and BCBank, Inc. Partnership Continues, Strengthens

PHILIPPI, W.Va. –Alderson Broaddus has held a long-time partnership with BCBank, Inc. and that relationship has recently been reaffirmed thanks to the bank’s continued and generous support.

In late 2012, BCBank, Inc. purchased a significant portion of AB’s municipal bonds, in addition to their generous pledge commitment of $50,000 in 2011.

BCBank, Inc. has been supporting AB since 1982 through gifts via the West Virginia Independent Colleges and Universities (WVICU) and direct gifts to the College. Their philanthropy has been designated to support various areas of the College, including campaign initiatives, scholarships (in 2005, the bank board established the BCBank, Inc. Scholarship), Battler athletics, and the annual fund.

“We are truly blessed to have businesses like BCBank, Inc. show their unwavering support of Alderson Broaddus,” says AB President Richard Creehan. “Their generosity directly impacts our students, ensuring aid for research projects, facilities, and scholarships that each student needs to fulfill their potential, while also offering a dynamic and secure future for the College.”

Additionally, BCBank, Inc. continues to participate each year at the College’s orientation events, welcoming new students to Philippi. They also actively engage with upperclassmen through job fairs, presenting valuable information about the banking industry to future accountants and financial advisors.

Jeff Rogers, president and CEO of BCBank, Inc., is a 1988 graduate of AB. During the evenings in the winter months, he can be found in Rex Pyles Arena as the voice of the Battlers, announcing men’s and women’s basketball games.

“The relationship with BCBank, Inc. and its employees is just an example of the many community business partners for whom Alderson Broaddus is grateful,” says Creehan.

The College will recognize all of its community business partners/supporters throughout the evening of the last home basketball games on Monday, Feb. 18. The College would like to thank these organizations for their support and dedication to the students and the campus of Alderson Broaddus.
