AB HOSTS COLORS AGAINST CANCER 5K RUN/WALK
Community invited to participate on Sept. 29

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – Alderson Broaddus University is hosting the Colors Against Cancer 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at noon.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. on the quad by the Campus Center. Race begins at noon.

If registered by Sept. 25, cost is $10 for ABU students, faculty, staff, and alumni; and $15 for community members. If registering after Sept. 25, cost is $15 for ABU students, faculty, staff, and alumni; and $20 for community members.

The Colors Against Cancer 5k Run/Walk is a partnership between Alderson Broaddus University organizations (Athletic Training Club, AB Intramurals, and the ABU Relay for Life Team) in order to raise awareness and funds to fight cancer.

A memorial service will take place in the Quad at 11:45 a.m. Participants will run/walk this event which will educate them about the different types of cancer but also promote camaraderie among community members.

Throughout the race participants will be bombarded with colors representing different cancer awareness programs, and then will be doused in the blue and gold ABU colors at the end of the race. After the event, participants are encouraged to go cheer for the Battlers at the ABU Men's Soccer game.
