Alderson Broaddus University Installs New ABSCA Officers For 2011-2012

 PHILIPPI, W.Va, - The Alderson Broaddus University Secretarial and Clerical Association (ABSCA) recently installed new officers for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Members include: Publicist / Historian - Samantha Swick, Social Secretary - Judy Bryant, Secretary - Tabitha Knicely, Treasurer - Julie Spruill, Vice President - Judy Barnard, President - Caroline Davis.

Formed in 1973, ABSCA is made up of both current and retired administrative professionals of Alderson Broaddus University. ABSCA exists for the members to strengthen working relationships with each other and with other college personnel.  ABSCA also sponsors initiatives that support both the college and the broader community.

Recent sample projects of ABSCA include an annual monetary scholarship awarded to an AB student; donations to organizations such as the Relay for Life of Barbour County, the Philippi Public Library, and the annual AB University fund; and special projects such as providing school supplies to impoverished children in Iraq and providing sock monkeys to children affected by violence in the Philippi community.
