Dr. Lauren Lindsey, assistant professor of music at Alderson Broaddus University directs "The West Virginians," conducts Concert Choir and Chapel Choir, teaches conducting, music rudiments, music hardware, voice class, and applied voice. Mrs. Lindsey is a graduate of ABU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree from Illinois State University in Choral Conducting. She received the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from The University of Southern Mississippi in Conducting Performance and Pedagogy.
Dr. Lindsey has taught middle school in Danville, Illinois, before pursuing a career in higher education. She has been on faculty for The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. Dr. Lindsey has adjudicated choral events in West Virginia, Illinois, South Dakota, Mississippi, Nebraska, and Alabama. She has also conducted choral festivals in Mississippi and Alabama. She has been on staff at churches in the Hattiesburg area as both a professional singer and conductor. Dr. Lindsey has studied conducting with Mr. Bret Peppo and Dr. Gregory Fuller. She has led choral ensembles from large to small, from early music to vocal jazz. She has taken ensembles on tour around the U.S. and in Italy. Dr. Lindsey is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and the Collegiate Music Society.
