Six Battlers Named to WVIAC All-Conference Team
A second-place finish in the WVIAC as well as solid individual efforts has resulted in the naming of six Battlers from the Alderson-Broaddus softball team to the WVIAC all-conference squads.
A stellar senior campaign by catcher Ashley Mooney not only landed her on the first-team, but it also awarded her WVIAC Player of the Year honors.

Bockbrader Named WVIAC Pitcher of the Week
Senior pitcher Kari Bockbrader led A-B to a 3-2 victory over #7 Grand Valley State week at a tournament in Salem, Virginia. The Temperance, Michigan native walked none and struck out four as the Battlers became the second WVIAC school to knock off a nationally ranked top ten squad in 2008.
2008 Preview
With 5 starters returning for the Battlers, Head Coach J D Long is very cautious, but remains positive about what could happen in 2008. " The five returners provide a special leadership for us but they have their work ahead of them due to the rest of the roster having nine true freshman," said Long.
