At Alderson Broaddus University, we realize that, by their very nature, gifts are given from the heart as an act of good stewardship to support our mission and our students.  As such we take very seriously our own stewardship role as the recipient of donors’ generosity.  We maintain a commitment to ensure that gifts are managed prudently and privately, and to assure that the use of gift funds always follows donors’ wishes.

Alderson Broaddus University is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation.  As such, gifts to the University are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.

Annual Fund graphic

The Annual Fund impacts students in several ways. From the urgent (like financial aid and building repair), to the boring (like utilities and campus clean up), to the fun (like freshman orientation and weekend events), your gift to the annual fund helps address our most pressing needs. To give to the Annual Fund click here.

scholarship information grahic

Making a gift to an endowed fund means you are investing in generations of future Battlers. Nearly every student at ABU receives some type of scholarship aid. Your contribution to an established fund increases the amount of scholarship aid that can be awarded from that fund. Click here to find a list of some of our scholarships in the dropdown box. The ones listed have reached an endowment level of $10,000 or above and have had contributions made to them in the last two years.

Golden Battler Club graphic

More than 60% of all ABU undergraduates participate in intercollegiate athletics. The Golden Battler Club supports men and women athletes by providing funds for travel expenses, uniforms, equipment, and the other necessities of collegiate athletics. If you are especially close to one team, you can even designate your gift to that team. Just click here and use the dropdown box to choose your favorite sport and become a member of the Golden Battler Club.

Planned Giving

Click here to understand the options you have to leave a legacy to ABU.

The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. Other planned gifts include a charitable remainder trust, a charitable lead trust, an endowment fund, retirement plan assets, life insurance policies, or a remainder interest in your home.

If you are interested in donating to a fund not on the list, please contact Joanne McConnell, Coordinator of Donor Relations, at (304) 457-6322 or mcconnelljs@ab.edu.
