Alumni and Friends

Alderson-Broaddus College is continuing down the path to a bright and transformative future.
Recently, A-B College has seen a significant increase in enrollment which will lead to a growth and strengthening of our academic experiences and the creation of a campus brimming with vibrancy and excitement. Included in this vision is the plan for the revitalization of one of the College’s most historicfacilities: the Funkhouser Auditorium, which will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2013. Through the restoration of this symbolic building, A-B College will further advance the second priority of the strategic plan: growing a vibrant campus. Since 1958, Funkhouser has been the home to numerous pageants, recitals, musicals, and plays. The “Take a Seat” Campaign is an exciting opportunity to rejuvenate this historic space. Naming a chair in Funkhouser Auditorium is a unique and fitting way to leave your legacy at Alderson-Broaddus College and/or to honor or memorialize a loved one. Supporting the “Take A Seat” Campaign allows you to afford students, alumni, and friends front row seats to great performance opportunities. Each named seat will have a brass plaque attached to the arm of the chair with your specified inscription. You can name a seat for whomever you wish, whether it’s a family member, friend, instructor, or staff member. It’s your seat, and your legacy. Seating is limited, so reserve yours today!
The Performing Arts At Alderson-Broaddus College
Alderson-Broaddus College offers every student who expresses an interest the opportunity to be involved in the performing arts. Throughout the years, countless A-B students have performed on stage and benefited from the learning experiences the performing arts provide. In addition to the numerous theatrical productions, students also participate in music ensembles including: Brass Choir, Chapel Choir, Concert Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Men’s and Women’s Quartets, and “The West Virginians.” With your generous support, a renovated Funkhouser Auditorium will showcase a modern venue, becoming the premier location for a wide variety of performances for both A-B students and the community.
