Application Process

Alderson-Broaddus College accepts applications through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA), a web-based service.  CASPA allows prospective PA students to submit their applications through a secure Web server.  (Paper applications are available upon request.)

The following materials must be submitted to CASPA:

  1. Application Deadline:  Applicants must complete the CASPA application in its entirety by January 1.  (Early application is strongly recommended.)
  2. College Transcripts:  Applicants must have an official copy of ALL college transcripts forwarded to CASPA. (Applicants who have completed coursework in another country must provided a professional evaluation of those classes successfully completed.)
  3. Recommendation:  Three recommendations are required.
  4. Transfer Clearance Form:  This form is to be completed by the Dean of Students at your current (or most recently attended) college or university.  It pertains to non-academic information and will be forwarded to you upon receiving your application from CASPA. 

On-Campus Interview

Only applicants who have submitted ALL application materials to CASPA and who are considered competitive for admission by the Physician Assistant Program Admissions Committee, will be invited for the on-campus interview.

Interviews are conducted throughout the academic school year.  Upon invitation, the applicant must schedule their interview by contacting the Admissions Office.

Admission to the Physician Assistant Program will only be granted by the Physician Assistant Program Admissions Committee.  Those selected to the Program will be notified on or around March 15.

Students who have not completed a bachelor's degree prior to Program entry are asked to submit the following material: 

  1. Secondary School Transcripts:  An official secondary school transcript from all high schools attended.
     
  2. ACT or SAT Scores:  Official results from either the ACT or SAT testing programs. Scores reported on official high school transcripts will be accepted.
