PHILIPPI, W.Va. – Alderson Broaddus University will commemorate the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the United States on Friday, September 11.
All students, faculty, staff and the campus community are invited to gather at the fountain in front of Burbick Hall, and a moment of silence will occur at 8:46 a.m., the time of impact on the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Dr. Timothy DeWitt, professor of music, will lead the AB Brass Quintet in playing a touching rendition of Amazing Grace at 8:47 a.m. from the four corners of the campus quadrangle.
“I want to thank Dr. DeWitt and the Brass Quintet for sharing their talents with our campus community by providing a moment of honor commemorating the events of September 11,” said President Richard Creehan. “This is a moving event and their contribution is greatly appreciated.”
